“The personal is political.” This is a radical feminist slogan that would frame the work that I would be partaking in during WEST 3400 Theory and Methods in WEST, and it would forever change the way I perceive, define, and articulate myself as a scholar in academia.

Hi, my name is Mariah Boudrieau. I am a political Science Major with a WEST Minor. My reason for choosing WEST as my minor is a little unique. I am a Professional NASCAR driver in the NASCAR ARCA Menards series, and I love educating others on my career path, and what it's like being a female race car driver.

Listening to where things went wrong, what shattered someone’s self-esteem; why they don’t have the motivation to invest in themselves; how they want to get out and be better; how an elementary teacher told them something they would never forget; how they can’t stop using; how they want the pain to stop; how they wish things were different; what they dream about; and how they see the world.

International Scholar Exchange

Dr. Andrea Herrera

In the spring of 2020, Andrea Herrera was selected to participate in an international scholar exchange funded by the Polish Government and the European Union. The grant, which was originally to be administered in May of 2020, was postponed due to the covid pandemic. Last May and June of 2023, Andrea was finally able to travel to Poland to complete the grant.
